BIRDS of the Sawtooth National
Recreation Area of Central Idaho

The opportunities for birding are abundant in Central Idaho... ranging from the majestic Bald Eagle to the Sandhill Crane and a myriad of other species (more than 140) that make the Central Idaho Rockies their home.  The Wilson's Snipe is heard in the springtime all around Valley Creek Motel & RV Park.  You frequently hear them in the evening with both the calling and the winnowing of their wings in flight.
